Item Details

Description

Raised on tripod feet formed as mythical beast, the body depicting dragons in low relief, with two bail formed handles rising from the body, the lid having Qilin finial, now raised on a later hardwood stand, 10.75"H not including stand, circa Meiji Period.

Condition: Finial lacking tail.

Property of a private Michigan collector who collected these pieces in the 1980's. Some of his collection was sold at Christies's New York.
