Courtesans at Leisure, 1869

Terrific peek inside a Yoshiwara teahouse at courtesans enjoying a moment of leisure. At lower right, a beauty wearing a black outer kimono patterned with egrets sit on the red floral carpet, smiling happily as she looks up. In the center, a woman with a striking outer robe patterned with lions and a waterfall gestures with her hand. The only man in the scene stands on the verandah at right in a blue kimono, looking out over the garden. Wonderful detail in the architectural setting and the elegant clothing and furnishings. A charming subject.

With excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams. A few small wormholes and holes, small losses in left margin of left panel, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling, creasing, and rubbing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
