Description
Scene in a Sushi Shop

Handsome kabuki triptych depicting a scene taking place in a sushi shop. At right, a commoner holds a wooden sushi tub under his arm, frowning unhappily as the beauty at left throws herself in front of the door, blocking his way. He wears an informal blue and white kimono, which hangs open at the front, and has a dotted towel tied around his head. At left, a man eavesdrops on their confrontation, tilting his head to listen as he waits outside. Great expressive figures in a nicely detailed setting.

14 1/2" x 29" + margins as shown
Condition
With excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams, left panel backed with paper. A few small holes, slight thinning at corners, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling, creasing, and rubbing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
