The present terracotta figure of a shepherd originates from Great Greece. The seated shepherd is depicted while playing a flute. He wears a conical hat in the manner of a tiara, a shepherd's crook, and a knee-length robe. Two dogs are seated by his feet. The figure is worked hollow and was used as a burial object.
The figure is overall in good condition, showing light wear and a loss to the foot. The height is 16.3 cm. (cko)
