Interestingly shaped vessel
The present siren vessel from Sicily dates from the late 6th century BC. The vessel has the shape of a siren. The zoomorphic, bulbous vessel has two openings and a handle. The spout is designed in the form of a face with a long neck. The dense sinter covers a red glaze decoration.
The vessel is overall in good condition, showing small chips to the spout. There are losses at the small opening and the tail. The height of the vessel is 16.5 cm. (cko)
