Chinese Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) style polychromed pottery figural equestrian sculpture in the form of a horse and male rider. Horse with remnants of grey paint on exterior with pink ears and nostrils. Male rider wearing white to red robes with mustached face sitting on green and white saddle blanket. Shape of hands of rider figure indicate that they likely held reins (now missing). Hand painted white feather on animal's haunches. Approximate height 15", width 5.25", depth 14.3". Note: This lot may be an authentic Tang Dynasty work as the piece absorbs moisture quickly and exhibits other signs that validate substantial age.
