George Ross (1730-1779) Ross was a lawyer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and a member of the colonial assembly (1768-1774) before serving as delegate (1774-1777) to the Continental Congress. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. 7" x 11" legal document signed on the reverse "Geo. Ross," Cumberland County Court, January Term, 1775. The document is a legal brief for a case involving the non-payment of a promissory note. There are separations in the folds which are repaired with archival tape; darker toning in the folds.
