Slavery Document. This is a 7" x 9", two page, front and back legal document, Hinds County, Mississippi, April 18, 1858. The document is an inventory of the slaves belonging to Ann and George Robinson during the years 1857 and 1858. Four slaves are listed by name for 1857 including. "...Negro man Pleasant Valued at $137.50...." In 1858 the Robinsons owned ten slaves with an aggregate value of $1,175.00, ranging from a "...man Harrison valued at $175.00..." to a "...girl Lotty valued at $25.00...." The document is signed at the conclusion by the four Commissioners.
