Sculptor, Painter KAHIL GIBRON - His Book Signed

Description
278. Kahlil Gibran (1922- ) Sculptor-painter. Gibran is the nephew and namesake of the famous Lebanese poet-painter Gibran Kahlil. During the 1940s, Gibran painted uniquely individualist oils in a modernist manner and subjects that pondered life and death include human heads peering through misty veils of environment, children in caskets, young muses and girls doing every day things in an unconventional or eccentric manner. Preferring to hand hammer sculpture in steel, Gibran is a profoundly dynamic, sensitive innovator in bronze (lost wax technique), metal, marble and aluminum.
The book, Sculpture Kahlil Gibran, the Bartlett Press, soft cover, 1970, signed on the first blank page "Best wishes to Ernest McConnell —Kahlil Gibran.” The book shows shelf wear with damage to the edges.
