This elegant cabinet secretary by Jules Leleu was created in the 1930s. Jules Leleu's furniture is known for their superior quality. The cabinet stands on four elegantly curved legs in baroque style. The simple, elegant design of the cabinet is characterized by the use of warm, exclusive wood and bronze fittings. The inside is divided several times including three small drawers. In all its simplicity this cabinet secretary is a noble furniture of the late Art Deco design.


The cabinet secretary is 130 cm tall and measures 120 x 45 cm. He is in very good, clean condition with minimal signs of age and wear.


Jules Leleu (1883-1961)

Jules Leleu was born in the French Boulogne-sur-Mer in 1883. He first studied decorative painting and at the age of 26 became the successor of his father's painting company. After the World War I Leleu began to specialize in the manufacturing of furniture and opened his own gallery in Paris. In 1924 and 1925 he participated in the ‘Exposition Industrial et Arts Decoratifs’ and was awarded a prize, followed by numerous commissions from prominent people and institutions for interior design.
