Miniature carriage clock in oval shape
Original brass movement, spring, cylinder escapement, power reserve for about 1 week
Porcelain dial, with the finest painting in gold, fine blued steel hands, Roman numerals and gallant scene; hour and minute
Red stones in gilt rosettes, curved porcelain inserts with young girl and boy to the sides
Triple glazed faceted brass body with blued steel screws, profiled plinth and cornice
Finely sawn handle

High quality French carriage clock; precision and aesthetics en miniature
The present miniature carriage clock in oval shape was manufactured circa 1900 in France. The original gilt brass movement has a balancer with cylinder escapement. The porcelain dial is adorned with the finest painting in gold, and features fine blued steel hands and Roman numerals, showing the hour and minute. Beneath is painted a gallant scene. To the sides, there are curved porcelain inserts with a painted young girl and a boy. Red stones in gilt rosettes decorate the painting. The triple-glazed faceted brass case has a profiled base and a finely sawn handle.
The clock is in very good condition with light wear. A red stone is missing. The movement is functional, and the clock comes with the original winding key. No guarantee on accuracy and long-term precision. The clock is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity by the goldsmith Seibod from Düsseldorf (2002). The height of the clock is 7 cm.
