Plain and massive French beaker
This early French silver beaker was manufactured in the time around 1780 presumably inStrasbourg. The bell-shaped cuppa has a slightly flared mouth edge and stands on a retracted and profiled foot ring. The wall of the cuppa shows a hammered décor. Underneath the mouth edge, it reads the stamped signature of a former owner, ‘THERESSE MARSAIS’. This is a valuable silver beaker with a timeless shape.
The beaker bears the hallmark ‘E’ underneath a crown and the maker’s mark ‘FF’. It shows only minor wear marks. The beaker measures 9.4 cm in height and weighs approximately 127.3 grams. (cko)
