Good condition
Fine tapestry with a genre scene in good condition and manageable format
Besides the famous tapestries from Paris and Beauvais, Aubusson belonged to the world's best manufacturers for wall hangings in France. In the typical French style of the time, the tapestry depicts a romantic scene with fishermen within a park landscape beside a small stream. The fine scene especially enchants by the great diversity of the plants. The pretty floral border gives the tapestry an ornate framing.
The tapestry is fitted with twelve sewn loops for hanging to the upper edge. A plexiglas rod is supplied on request. The piece is in good overall condition, showing light wear and a 20 cm long restored tear. The dimensions are approximately 181 x 213 cm (including loops).
