Item Details

Description

Likely English, late 19th/ early 20th century. An ivory or bone handled wooden walking stick with hidden sword or dagger. Presented atop a round wooden shaft with unmarked white metal ferrule, handle of cane is carved in relief with naturalistic leaves on a tree branch with two blank ovular cartouches for monogram, with white metal, likely sterling silver, collar decorated with impressed floral patterning and featuring a pushbutton release for hidden trapezoidal shaped steel dagger within. Apparently unmarked. Length of cane with handle approx. 34", length of hidden sword with handle approx. 16.75".
