Description
English, 19th century. A sarcophagus form footed satinwood tea caddy inlaid on front with two almond shaped cartouches decorated with twisted shells, on top of hinged lid with an oval cartouche filled with oak leaf and acorn decoration, and accented on every surface with inlaid border around edges. Hinged lid opens to reveal three compartments, the center one reserved for a crystal mixing bowl and the two outer compartments being lidded with brass knobs. Caddy is raised on four brass ball feet and exhibits an ivory lock on front. Approximately 6.5" tall x 12" wide x 5.5" deep.
