The pendant is supported by a twenty inch length 18KT white gold designer style link chain, terminating in a lobster claw clasp. Bright polish finish. Identified with markings of "14K". Containing: One prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 14.00 x 10.30 x 7.20mm, 5% bulge factor, approximate weight of 7.55ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, bluish violet color, (GIA bV 5/3), cut is good. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method.
