This 76-piece set of glasses originates from the crystal manufactory Theresienthal. The glasses are designed in the form Concord, a classical elegant design from the 1950s, with the refinement version Mintonborte, a burnishing Gold border. The following glasses are part of the convolute: 1 pitcher (1 litre), 3 champagne flutes (19.8 cm), 6 water glasses, 11 wine glasses (13.1 cm), 5 wine glasses (11.8 cm), 8 brandy snifters, 8 port glasses, 6 brandy coupes, 8 cordial glasses, 12 champagne coupes, 4 whisky glasses large, and 2 whisky glasses small. In addition there are two vessels, 1 ice cube case and 1 confection bowl.



The glasses are in very good condition. They display usual traces of wear and age. Some of the glasses hold the manufacturer’s mark on the base.



Crystal Manufactory Theresienthal

The crystal manufactory Theresienthal was founded in 1836 by Franz and Wilhelm Steigerwald. The company became successful towards the end of the 19th Century thanks to the creative designs by Henriette Steigerwald and prestigious commissions from King Louis II. From 1900 onwards, there were numerous collaborations with renowned artists of the Art Nouveau movement and the export to the US was enabled. In 1949, Hans von Poschinger developed the Concord series, which became a bestseller in Germany. In the following years, Theresienthal established itself as a manufacturer of high-quality glass objects. The manufactory was closed in 2001 but production was resumed in 2004.
