Characteristic animal portrait of the artist George Majewicz, who devoted himself particularly to the representation of African wildlife

The painting was created by George Majewicz, who worked as a landscape, wildlife and hunting painter. In addition to the representation of native animals he devoted himself particularly to the representation of African wildlife. Skillfully he combines a vivid display of the young elephant bull with an impressive landscape description of the savannah.



The painting is signed lower right ‘G. Majewicz’ and is overall in very good condition. The image measures 80.5 x 70 cm. The framed dimensions are 100 x 90 cm.



George Majewicz (1897-1973)

Georg Majewicz was born in Polkowice/Münchberg in 1897. He specialized in painting landscapes, moreover especially in hunting and animal painting. He derives his motives mostly from the African animal world and devoted himself preferably to the representation of animals in the wilderness in connection with an impressive landscape description.
