This painting by the Italian artist Giacomo Moretti was created around 1960. It is titled ‘Verso la Gloria’. Shown is the portrait of a young man in traditional costume, holding the sword with his hand. Full of pride and self-confidence he turns to the viewer, fixing the red cloth around his neck with his right hand. The whole composition, executed in a loose brushwork, is crossed by gentle light reddish hues.



The painting is signed in red ‘G. Moretti’ and further signed and titled on verso. The reverse of the canvas also bears the certificate of authenticity by the Gallery Efedra. The painting is in very good condition. The stretcher measures 80 x 60 cm, the framed dimensions are 111 x 91 cm. The frame shows slight signs of use.



Giacomo Moretti (b. 1939)

The Italian artist Giacomo Moretti was born in 1939. His works show mostly characteristic respectively traditional Italian motifs. He often created portraits of young Italian women or depicts loving genre scenes in bright and vivid colors.
