This is one copy of a total of 37 copies. The carpet is made of wool velour on canvas. The back is strengthened with a narrow line ribbon. The dark blue area of the carpet is divided into 24 square sections with 12 figural scenes in which are illustrated birds or a girl with a hare. The outer edge shows a black ribbon with a circulating yellow inscription: ‘Among those beds of bright / Flowers and those cool fountains / How she longed to get out / Of that dark hall and wander about’. The carpet was produced by Arterior Vorwerk in Hameln.

The piece is in good condition with some soiling and small stains here and there, which can be, however, removed during cleaning. The dimensions are approximately 300 x 200 cm.
