These are 12 collotypes by Willy Ronis that were published in a portfolio by Galerie Camera Obscura in 2001 in Paris. The portfolio is a limited edition of 290 pieces that are signed by the artist. The portfolio was produced on the occasion of an exhibition of Willy Ronis at the Galerie Camera Obscura and is accompanied by text.



The work is signed in ballpen on the last page ‘Willy Ronis’ and numbered in pencil on the last page ‘253/290’. The condition is very good with minimal traces of wear. The depictions measure each max. 28.5 x 22.5 and the dimensions of the sheets are each 35 x 27 cm.



Willy Ronis (1910-2009)

Born in France, Willy Ronis was an award-winning photographer, whose photographic works were devoted to the postwar period. His photographs depict life on the streets in Paris and the Provence. Along with Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau, Ronis is among the representatives of the French School of the Photographic Humanism. The city of Paris honored him with an exhibition at the town hall and also the Art Museum Picasso in Münster dedicated a retrospective to the artist in 2013 consisting of 80 works. (tm)
