In this large painting the German artist has created an abstract composition in gestural paint application, that centrally vivify the image with a gate-like or triumphal arch-like shape. The color application is different: immaterial translucent parts alternate with impasto, material stressed ones. Matte colors are in contrast to shiny ones, color fields to linear brush gestures. The result is a very exciting composition.

The painting is signed and dated lower right ‘Peschke 95’. It is overall in very good condition with only minor surface soiling. The painting measures 120.5 x 180.5 cm. The framed dimensions are 122.5 x 182.5 cm.

Christian Peschke (born 1946)

Painter and sculptor Christian Peschke was born 1946 in Säckingen, raised in Spain, France and Stuttgart, Germany. He studied at the Kunstakademie Stuttgart in the class of Prof. Gollwitz as well as at the Blocherer Schule für freie und angewandte Kunst in Munich. His canon of forms follows the tradition of distinguished artists of 20th century modern art such as Picasso, Matisse or Braque and therefor show his exceptional talent. Since 1990 he held numerous exhibitions in Germany, Austria and Italy. Furthermore he designed the “George Tabori Award” for the so called Fonds Darstellende Kunst Berlin. (fea)
