Fleck dedicates much of his work to still life painting, this painting is part of a series of slaughterhouse images that he created in the 1980s; similar motifs of the artist fetch up to € 10,500 on the auction market

This painting was created by the German painter Ralph Fleck in 1980. Flecks paintings are determined by the classical genres such as landscape and figurative painting or seascapes and still life painting, which he adapts to a contemporary painting style. This picture here shows a piece of pork, executed in impasto paint application on a black ground. It is part of a series of slaughterhouse images that the created in the 1980s.



The painting is signed and dated lower right ‘Ralph Fleck 80’ and titled lower left ‘Schweinefleisch I’. It is in very good condition. The painting measures 80 x 100 cm.



Ralph Fleck (born 1951)

The painter Ralph Fleck was born in 1951 in Freiburg im Breisgau. From 1973-78 he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe and graduated as a master student of Peter Dreher. He has won several sponsorship awards and received a scholarship from the Villa Massimo in Rome in 1981. Since 2003 he is a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. Ralph Fleck lives and works in Freiburg, Nuremberg and in his studio in Portugal.
