In its abstraction unusual composition by the German painter Heinz Borchers; paintings by the artist fetch up to more than €3,000 at international auctions

The works influenced by the New Objectivity by the German artist mostly depict figurative compositions. In the present painting from 1968 an abstract composition is shown in contrast, in which a plastically modulated, red ball floats on a partly checkered ground of rectangle shapes. The coloring of the ground in soft white and gray tones and sublime modulated green underlines the plasticity of the spherical shape and gives the composition a calm, balanced mood.

The painting is signed and dated lower right ‘Heinz Borchers 68’. The corners are bumped and show partly small paint losses. The surface is slightly soiled, additionally there are slight framing traces. The overall condition is good. The frame is overall in good condition with signs of wear. The painting measures 39.5 x 64 cm. The framed dimensions are 77 x 52 cm.
