Set of three watercolors with dynamic nudes in yellow, red and orange from the extensive oeuvre of Wolf Vostell

The three drawings by the German artist Wolf Vostell were created in 1988 and each depicts an entangled a couple making love. The contours of the bodies are drawn with fine, flowing pencil lines and then colored with broad brushstrokes. The nude is a recurring theme in Vostell’s work. Here the artist was inspired by motifs from works by Théodore Géricault and August Rodin, which he interpreted in his own manner.

They are in very good condition. The edges are a little toned and the sheets are mounted on paper along the upper corners. The narrow wooden frames show minor signs of wear. The sheets each measure approx. 34 x 25.5 cm. The framed dimensions are 43 x 34.5 cm.
