English Carved Mahogany Display Map Chest, early 20th c., the slant front glazed top lifting to a slanted green baize lined interior with glazed sides, over six drawers, the back with applied molding decoration, on a plinth base, H.- 41 7/8 in., W.- 51 in., D.- 28 1/2 in.

Condition consistent with age and use. Slant top frame is observed with moderate scratches and scattered nicks throughout, with a few areas of paint residue seen along the front edge. Drawers observed with scattered nicks and a few small losses. Plinth base is seen with nicks throughout, with an approximately 3 inch loss to veneer at the back of the left side, and a slight horizontal loss at the base of the right side. An 8 inch deeper scratch is observed on the left side panel. Finish is slightly inconsistent in areas throughout. A classic example.
