Fire gilt bronze. Nepal, 20th cent.
Elaborate redition, cast with Yamantaka, here shown in his manifestation as Vajrabhairava; Yamantaka with principle bull head with horns, and 9 further heads, he is surrounded by 34 arms and 16 legs; the upper head depicting the Bodhisattva Manjushri, all hand holding attributes; he is shown in sexual union with his tantric partner, holding skull and axe; Dharmapala standing on a variety of animals interspersed of Hindu deities that include Ganesha, Garuda and Shiva (manifested as nandi); mounted on lotus base, and surrounded by flaming nimbus; patina, minor dam to plug, and vishvavajra.
