Early 19th century mahogany cased marine chronometer by Edward Baker, London, No. 1139, with 3.75" silvered dial with Roman and small Arabic numbers, subsidiary wind and seconds dials, brass two day fusee movement and case; fusee movement with spring detant escapement, contained in a drum case with dust shutter for winding hole. The mahogany box with double hinged top inlaid with an ivory plaque and the number 1139. 6" wide. F.J. Britain 'Old Clocks & Watches and Their Makers', records Edward Baker 1785 - 1851 at various addresses in London. (Illustrated)
