This piece includes a certificate of authenticity. Azoulay (b. 1949) was born in Casablanca, Morocco and later moved to Paris. He is a self taught artist who began by selling art on the streets of Paris but whose works can now be found in the Louvre. In 1976 he settled in California where he lives and works today. His attention to lines which create form and depth has earned him the moniker King of the Line. His mastery of the horse won him the opportunity to create the Official Kentucky Derby Festival Poster in 1983. While his greatest accomplishment is being the youngest artist to be collected by the Louvre his works can also be found in numerous private collections some of which include: President Ronald Reagan, Nelson Rockefeller,King Hassan II of Morocco, Prince Rainier and Prince Karim Aga Khan.
