Salt-water dish in the shape of an egg. United States, ca. 1910.
Porcelain, colored, with gold-color addition. Marked on the reverse (maker's mark/serial number).
A dish in the shape of a cracked egg positioned on three legs. Ornamentations in color on the dish and inscriptions in Yiddish, Hebrew and English. By an illustration of an egg on a blue plate and a crown, appears an inscription (Yiddish) "zalts vaser" [salt water]. By an illustration of an open Haggadah inscribed in Hebrew "Ma Nishtana HaLayla / Haze Mikol Halaylot", appears an inscription in English: "Seder Salt Water". Surface of the dish ornamented in several places with images of green karpas. Matching ladle.
Height: 16 cm. Length of ladle: 17 cm. Good condition.
