A medal commemorating the establishment of a new building for "Beth Israel" hospital in Newark (New Jersey), 1928. Maker: John Ray Sinnock.
Obverse: Relief of the hospital's building, above it - a Star of David, and below - the Rod of Asclepius (symbol of the God of Medicine in Greek Mythology) and the legend: "Beth Israel Hospital Newark, New Jersey February 1928". Reverse: A man sipping from a bowl handed to him by a woman, and a legend (in Hebrew): "for I am the Lord, who heals you" (Book of Exodus 15:26).
Diameter: 75 mm.
