A carved and polychromed figure of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico or Guatamala, early 20th c. The standing figure with hands clasped in prayer above the Christ child, wearing polychromed tin crown, raised on a squared pigmented pedestal. 24" h. Provenance: Private Collection acquired from Professor Joseph Jankowski, Cleveland Institute of Art Condition: losses to polychrome, some losses and minor damage to crown
