American Laminated Mahogany Piano Stool, mid-19th century, with a lyre- and foliate-carved back, dished seat and a swivel base, h. 37-1/2".

In overall good condition. The surface appears to be an older refinish now exhibiting scattered minor mars, wears and abrasions consistent with age and use. The most notable are a small cluster of scratches and a couple dings to the verso of the back. No voids or separation in the laminations. Base is sturdy, solid, free of breaks or repairs, with all legs firmly affixed. The chair joins the base with a threaded metal post. There is a small amount of wobble in the threads.
