NATIVE AMERICAN WALKING STICK - 19th c Hickory Penobscot Cane, for a southpaw, having a t-handle carved with a bear head at front and an eagle head at back, an underhung flower blossom as a fingerstop, a turtle on the interior side, the shaft is checkered, entwined in a vine growing from the antlers of a deer spirit head, two lower knots carved into a spirit mask and a snake's head. Found in Maine. 36 3/4" long. Carved of a piece. Nice age and use patina. Displayed at the 2003 Hudson Museum U of M, Orono exhibition "Stick to the Trail".
