Description
HISTORIC NATIVE AMERICAN PIPE TOMAHAWK - Forged Iron Tomahawk Pipe having stamped brass disc reading "1901 High Eagle Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show", hung off the 23" beaded drop along with a 1901 Indian Head Penny button, an elk tooth and a hotel key tag. The pipe has a hexagonal bowl, is mounted on a file-branded and pewter inlaid ashwood haft, with brass studs. 23" long overall, 7" from pipe bowl to blade edge. Good condition. High Eagle was an Oglala Lakota, did in fact travel with Bill Cody in 1901, later was with Ringling Brothers.
