RUSSIAN COMMEMORATIVE CIGAR BOX - 19th c. Russian Malachite and Silvered Metal Cigar Box, the heavy box veneered with malachite, the interior lined with silvered metal, the interior of the hinged lid applied with a silver bas-relief image of "The Slaughter of Penelope's Suitors by the Returning Odysseus" after Fedor Tolstoy's series of carvings based on "The Odyssey", inscribed in Cyrillic "Work of Count Feodor Tolstoy 1820". 4" x 10" x 6 1/4". Minor edge losses, thin sheet of aluminum applied to bottom, missing cahin stop.
