RARE JAPANESE KAKEMONO SCROLL - Amida Nyorai, Raigo, Japan 13th-14th century; late Kamakura period (1249 -1382) or early Muromachi period Buddhist Scroll Painting of the Descent of the Amida Buddha from the Western Paradise to earth, standing on lotus blossom surrounded by rays of light, his robe with red highlights in fine gemetric designs. Usually flanked by the bodhisattvas Seishi and Kannon in triptych. Gold on silk, mineral colors, with Edo brocade mount. Scroll ends of gilt engraved copper. Image: 12 1/8" x 6 3/8". 22 3/4" long mount on 10 1/2" roller. Several horizontal cracks, some wear. Generally good condition, fine mounting.
