The front of the chest with extensive iron lock, hinges and hardware, the empty circle at top would have held the family Mon or crest, with a lower floral disc is in black lacquer. Lift handle on top. The interior of the chest has five drawers and a secret compartment behind the lower right hand drawer. The main door and lower two drawers have locks, all with the original keys, pull ring is gone from the lower left drawer. 17 1/2" x 15 1/2" x 19". Good condition, expected wear, some wormage to back and back end of top.
