Description
SPANISH COLONIAL SWORD WITH SCABBARD & FROG - Circa 1840 based on Napoleonic Era Artillery Officer's Sword with solid cast brass handle having a cross hilt and offset pommel, broad and heavy scimitar like steel blade, fitted with the original brass and leather scabbard, and sturdy leather frog. A notched 'X' on the haft of the blade is the only apparent mark. 15" blade. 22" overall, 5 1/2" wide hilt. Very good condition, light corrosion to blade, old inletted repair to hilt, leather still supple, one split.
