Single sheet, lithographically printed on one side only, 26.7x21.5 cm (8½x10½"). With folding stampless cover in which the circular was mailed, with Blood's Despatch ink-stamp, addressed in ink to Messrs. Fisher, Morgan, Water above Arch.
Rare broadside circular printed in Philadelphia, but advertising a San Francisco commission merchant "late of Philadelphia, having arrived at San Francisco... is ready to receive and make sale of all description of goods that may be consigned to his care..." The goods can be received by one Thompson Reynolds in Philadelphia, likely his brother, and letters may also be forwarded. Blood's Despatch, which conveyed he circular, was a privately operated express company that found itself in competition with, and in 1861 shut down by, the U.S. government and its postal service. The fine circular ink-stamp reads "Blood's Despatch, 28 So. Sixth"
