This paper was read before the Rhode Island Historical Society on December 17, 1872, and was published by Lester, a prominent Providence lawyer, at the request of friends. The narrative of his trip to Yosemite Valley in the summer of 1872 included in his The Atlantic to the Pacific is his more valuable contribution to Yosemite literature. Cowan II, p. 389; Currey & Kruska 236; Farquhar 13. With the stamp of the Providence Atheneum on front wrapper and title page, very faint presentation from the author on front wrappers.

Condition

Spine perished, wrappers chipped, light chipping to page edges; good.
