Description
Serial # 24326 These distinctive single shot Marlin Ballard big game rifles were easily identified as the "Pacific" model due to the oak cleaning rod beneath the barrel attached by two thimbles. It is chambered for the famous .40-63 Marlin cartridge. Features include a 30" full octagon barrel, rifle buttplate, walnut stocks, ring trigger lever, double set triggers, and long range adjustable tang peep sight. The rifle remains in beautiful near mint all original condition, an extreme rarity for the usually well-used rifles. The barrel retains virtually all of the brilliant Marlin factory blue finish and is topped with their traditional sporting front and rear sights. The frame retains approximately 70% of the original case colors, some quite bright. The walnut stocks are near mint with all of the original finish, none of the usual cracks or chips, with just a couple of usual minor bruises, and some oil darkening. Even the frame screws retain a majority of their original fire blue finish. Mint bore and action. Perfect set triggers. One of the finest condition Marlin Ballard sporting rifles on the market today, worthy of the finest collection.
