Description
An early 19th century 18ct gold coral cameo brooch, the oval-shape coral panel, carved to depict a gentleman in three-quarter profile, probably Napoleon Bonaparte, within a cannetille surround. Coral untested for natural colour origin. Length 2.8cms. Weight 4.5gms.
Condition
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Very slight bends and one bead deficient to cannetille surround. The coral is a slightly mottled, medium deep slightly reddish orange hue. Slight grooves to the back of the cameo. Approximate dimensions of the coral: 19 by 11.5mms, by 4.6mms deep at deepest.
