Description
Exceptional Art Nouveau Meissen porcelain figurine. Modelled by Walter Schott in 1898. Titled "Girl Playing Bowls". Depicts a semi-nude woman wearing a green robe tied at the waist with a pink ribbon, bending over to toss a golden ball. The figure stands in front of a tree trunk with trailing ivy leaves. Circular base with gilt band and moulded with a gilt classical frieze. Measures 12.75" high. 8" wide. Crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised model number Q.180, impressed numeral 101 and the numbers 53 in gold. CONDITION NOTE: Professional repair to arm, see photos.
