Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Chancay culture, ca. 1000-1470 CE. This endearing bulbous, round-bottomed pottery vessel assumes the form a corpulent with anthropomorphic features and elaborate costume painted in traditional Chancay color scheme of dark brown on cream ground. Â Sweet applied looped ears and arms, and a nice handle behind the head. Size: Â 6"H x 4-3/4"D at widest
