Description
India, 19th-early 20th century AD. Cast bronze figure of the Hindu god Krishna stood on a decorative base with his legs crossed and playing the flute; behind is a cow. 2.3 kg, 15cm (6"). From a large London collection; formed between 1980-late 1990s. During Krishna's youth he spent his time as a cowherd in the forests of Vrindavan where he would play his flute for the animals.
