Description
The Peter A.B. Widener walnut library circa 1887, executed by Gottlieb Vollmer. The library is comprised of a pair of four door corner bookcases and a third unit that spans the length of one wall. This unit has an L shaped four door bookcase on the right side and a window seat on the left side. Locks are signed G. Vollmer. Removed from the Peter Widener mansion formerly located at Broad St and Girard Ave in Philadelphia. Peter Widener was one of the wealthiest men in the country and in 1887 he built a mansion (See photo). This lot along with lot #'s 474, 486, & 487 were removed around 1980 just prior to the building being demolished and have been in storage since.Dimensions:Right Side Bookcase: Ht: 82" Width: 75" Depth: 41"
