FREE-BLOWN, ENGRAVED, AND PRESSED PAIR OF WHALE OIL STAND LAMPS, colorless, each urn-form font with roughed surface and berry and foliage engraving, raised on a triple-step square base with two lobbed tiers and plain foot, beehive/ringed wafer construction, one factory polished under base to level. Pewter collars, each fitted with a period pewter and tin double-tube whale oil burner having an integral shade ring and original thumb screw. Probably New England. Circa 1830-1840. 8 3/8" H to top of collar, 3" SQ base.

One example undamaged with normal minor flakes/roughness, as made, the other with a moderate chip to corner at top of stem, underside of foot with a significant chip to one side and remaining sides with minor chips/flakes and roughness, most probably as made. One collar not attached to font, collars and burners are in excellent condition.
