Description

FREE-BLOWN, ENGRAVED, AND PRESSED STAND LAMP, colorless, conical font with feathered swags between love knots, raised on a domed four-step square base with concave corners and prisms underneath, bladed-wafer construction, rough iron pontil mark. Probably eastern United States. Circa 1830-1835. 7 1/2" H, 3" SQ base.
Literature: Wilson - American Glass, vol. 1, p. 321, fig. 383. Engraving parallels Inness - Pittsburgh Glass, p. 160, left.
Provenance: Pennsylvania private collection.

Condition

Excellent condition, font undamaged, base with a few normal small chips/flakes to corners, lower edge, and underside.
