Description
FREE-BLOWN AND PRESSED WHALE OIL STAND LAMP, colorless, conical font raised on a hexagonal base with upper knop and flared foot, wafer construction. Later No. 2 Taplin-Brown collar. Fitted with a later set-up comprising a Plume & Atwood "Victor" No. 2 slip burner, opaque white shade with polychrome floral decoration and later gilt decoration to upper rim, and a MacBeth No. 54 colorless slip chimney. Lamp circa 1840-1860, set-up circa 1870-1890. 8 1/4" H to top of collar, 5 1/8" DOA base. Shade 5" H, 2 3/4" D fitter.
